1999: Everton 4-4 Leeds United

Everton and Leeds United shared the spoils in an eight-goal thriller at Goodison Park.

Kevin Campbell gave Everton the lead after four minutes but Michael Bridges equalised as Leeds hit back.

Campbell scored his second of the match and restored Everton’s lead. Leeds once again levelled the scoring through Harry Kewell until Dan Hutchison made it 3-2 heading into the break.

Bridges brought it back square and Jonathan Woodgate gave the visitors the lead for the first time in the match.

David Weir’s goal handed Everton a point and wrapped up an entertaining match which left the Toffees in eighth on 18 points. Leeds remained at the top of the table with 26 points, but with Arsenal closing in on them just a point behind.

2004: Newcastle United 4-3 Manchester City

Craig Bellamy's flicked volley won a pulsating game for Newcastle United against Manchester City.

The home side took an early second-half lead through Laurent Robert's free-kick and Alan Shearer's penalty made it 2-0.

Shaun Wright-Phillips' fine individual goal - a drilled shot - put City back in the contest and Robbie Fowler levelled the scores at 2-2 from the spot.

Robbie Elliott's header made it 3-2 before Wright-Phillips shot home again, only for Bellamy to score the winner.

Victory moved Newcastle up to seventh with 16 points, two points outside of the top four while Man City were in 13th on 11 points.
