Premier League International Cup: Format explained

Celtic kept alive their hopes of qualifying for the Premier League International Cup knockout stages with a 3-0 win over Valencia in their Group E tie at Southampton's Staplewood Training Centre.

Aidan Nesbitt gave the Bhoys the perfect start when he scored after only 30 seconds following an assist from Luke Donnelly, who doubled the lead before half-time.

Donelly set up Kristoffer Ajer for the third early in the second half to leave Celtic with six points from their three group matches, joint top of the table with Norwich City, while Valencia lost all three of their matches.

Norwich entertain Aston Villa, who have three points from their two matches, in the final group match on Thursday 12 January. The six group winners and two best runners-up will progress in the tournament.
