Junior season-ticket holders are paying an average of just £7 per match to watch their Premier League club during 2019/20, a study has revealed.
The Premier League has conducted its comprehensive ticket price research in conjunction with EY for the fourth consecutive season, using data provided directly from all 20 clubs.
The study gives a detailed insight into concession ticket pricing and shows how Premier League clubs create affordable offers for junior supporters, typically aged under 16, and families.
There are nearly 65,000 junior season-ticket holders across the Premier League who pay £7 per match on average.
When taking both individual matchday ticket and season-ticket prices into account, the average figure for junior fans is £9 per match. More than 1.5 million junior tickets will be sold in the Premier League this season, accounting for 12 per cent of all tickets.
Clubs offer a range of concession discounts to ensure Premier League matches can be enjoyed by supporters of all ages.
The young adult category, typically defined by the 18-21 age range, has an average price of £21 per match. Seniors, typically aged 65 and over, also pay £21 on average.
In total, more than a quarter of all seats across the Premier League are occupied by concession ticket holders.
'Value for money'
"All our clubs are committed to ensuring as many people as possible can attend Premier League matches," said Premier League Chief Executive Richard Masters.
"The Premier League is renowned for its great atmosphere and our stadiums have been more than 95 per cent full for the last seven seasons.
"Fanbases span generations and it is particularly pleasing to see low ticket prices for young supporters, ensuring that families can enjoy attending matches together.
"We have been conducting this study for four years and prices have remained consistent during that time, with many ticket prices frozen.
"It shows there are numerous offers providing value for money and hopefully gives fans a detailed insight into the cost of tickets across the Premier League."
The average ticket price across the Premier League in 2019/20 is £32, with the majority of supporters paying under £30.
More than half of the total number of tickets are sold at less than the full listed price due to concessionary pricing and discounting.
Season-ticket holders make a total saving of more than £16million because of early-bird deals, renewals, or long-term purchase offers.
The away-ticket price cap of £30, which was introduced in 2016 and has been extended until the end of the 2021/22 season, has led to clubs going further with their offers for visiting supporters.
Nearly a quarter of away tickets purchased are priced below the cap, with some available for as little as £5.
