Leicester City v Manchester United

Second-half goals from Bruno Fernandes and Jesse Lingard confirmed third place for Manchester United as they beat Leicester City 2-0 at King Power Stadium.

Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring with a 71st-minute penalty, a record 14th of the season for United, while Lingard added a second late on.

Wilfred Ndidi's rasping drive flew over and Kelechi Iheanacho's shot was held by David De Gea as the Foxes pushed for a breakthrough.

Jamie Vardy was denied a 24th Premier League goal when his header clipped the bar early in the second half, but he still claimed the Golden Boot.

Fernandes's ninth goal of the campaign came from the spot after Anthony Martial had been brought down.

After Jonny Evans was shown a red card in stoppage time for a foul on Scott McTominay, Lingard capitalised on a mistake by Kasper Schmeichel for his first goal of the season.

United finish third on 66 points, above Chelsea on goal difference, and four clear of Leicester in fifth.
