Newcastle United recovered from conceding an early goal to beat Aston Villa 4-2 in their Premier League 2 Division 2 match at St James' Park.

Andre Green put Villa ahead in the first minute but by half-time the Magpies were 2-1 up thanks to headers from central defenders Curtis Good and Stuart Findlay.

Tom Heardman and Liam Smith wrapped things up after the break before a late consolation for Villa from Keinan Davis. Newcastle, who are up to fourth in Division 2, were also boosted by the return of goalkeeper Rob Elliot after an eight-month injury lay-off.

Newcastle visit Stoke City at Leek Town on Friday night, while seventh-placed Villa entertain Fulham at Walsall next Monday.
