With the 2021/22 season kicking off on Friday, clubs are playing their final warm-up matches.

Son Heung-min scored with 11 minutes to go as Tottenham Hotspur rounded off their pre-season campaign with a 1-0 victory over London rivals Arsenal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Liverpool's Diogo Jota scored in the 13th minute as his side drew 1-1 with Athletic Club in front of 40,000 supporters at Anfield.

Defender Virgil van Dijk started the match and played for around 70 minutes but full-back Andrew Robertson had to come off before half-time after suffering what looked like an ankle injury.

On Monday, Roberto Firmino struck twice as Liverpool ended their pre-season with a 3-1 win over Osasuna at Anfield.

At Villa Park, Danny Ings was on target as Aston Villa finished their warm-up to the new season with a 3-1 victory over Italian side Salernitana.

Anwar El Ghazi and Ashley Young were also on the scoresheet.
