The Scout looks at the Fantasy Premier League potential of January signings in the 2022/23 season.
Wout Weghorst (MUN) £6.0m
The loan signing of the Dutch forward places question marks over the minutes of Anthony Martial (£6.6m) for Manchester United for the remainder of the campaign.
Weghorst arrives at Old Trafford on the back of eight goals and four assists in 16 league outings for Turkish side Besiktas this season.
He also scored twice for Holland in their FIFA World Cup 2022 quarter-final encounter with Argentina.
More options up front
Weghorst will rival Martial for the role as Man Utd’s lone forward following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Martial has profited from the Portuguese’s exit, starting each of his side’s last five league matches.
However, his record of just one goal over that run shows why manager Erik ten Hag has brought in reinforcements up front.

Indeed, if Martial fails to recover from a knock, Weghorst could immediately be handed his chance at Crystal Palace on Wednesday in the second match of Man Utd's Double Gameweek 20.
At a cost of just £6.0m in Fantasy, Weghorst could prove outstanding value if he can secure a regular starting role ahead of the Frenchman.
The versatile Martial also offers an option on the left flank, which could allow Ten Hag to rest Marcus Rashford (£7.1m) late on in matches.
Nonetheless, the in-form Rashford remains the go-to Man Utd pick in Fantasy, having scored in each of their seven matches in all competitions since the season resumed.
