A trip to Leeds United gives the Tottenham Hotspur star the chance to finish on a high after a prolific end to the season.

Kane has blanked in just one of Spurs’ last 11 matches, scoring 10 goals and supplying two assists to collect 84 points.

Indeed, his strike at home to Brentford last weekend took him to 247 points overall this season, surpassing his previous record of 242 points set in 2020/21.

Kane’s potential for more attacking returns is boosted by his hosts’ relegation struggles.

Leeds need to win and hope other results go their way to stand any chance of avoiding the drop into the Championship.

Encouragingly for Spurs, their opponents have been poor in defence since Sam Allardyce was appointed head coach.

Leeds have allowed 10 big chances in the last three Gameweeks, more than any other side without a Double Gameweek in that period.

Meanwhile, their total of 35 shots in the box conceded also ranks among the bottom three teams among that contingent.

The underlying statistics further enhance the appeal of turning to Kane.

Away from home, his total of 14 goals is joint-top with Erling Haaland (£12.4m) this season.

Furthermore, his 60 shots, 44 shots in the box and 26 shots on target all rank second behind the Norwegian.

After Haaland played 90 minutes against Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday evening, there is a chance the Man City forward's pitch time could be managed for the visit to Brentford.

That lifts the potential of Kane as a major captain alternative for the final Gameweek of 2022/23.
