“This is a great deal for all of us,” Brighton head coach Roberto De Zerbi told the club's official website. “I am sure Ansu will help us to reach a new target and we can help him get back at the level he deserves to be.”
Born in Guinea-Bissau, Fati and his family moved to Spain when he was six, and after impressing for his local side Herrera and for the youth teams of Sevilla, he was picked up by Barcelona, joining their prestigious La Masia academy at the age of 10.
The winger, known for his explosive speed, trickery and finishing ability, made his first senior appearance for Barcelona in August 2019, becoming the club's second-youngest player in history at only 16 years and 298 days.
The next month, in his first start for Barcelona, Fati became the youngest LaLiga player to score and assist in the same match.
