What the experts say
Lee Bonfield (@FPLFamily)

There are suddenly lots of good options in this bracket. Anthony Gordon (£5.6m) and Cole Palmer (£5.0m) are worthy of a mention, but Douglas Luiz (£5.5m) hasn't blanked for Aston Villa at home so far this season.

He also takes penalties and has a very inviting run of fixtures coming up, with four of their next five encounters scoring two in the Fixture Difficulty Ratings (FDR). A proper bargain.

Newcastle United are flying right now and Gordon is playing with confidence and provides a strong goal threat - he's a bargain.

If you're chasing fixtures though, you might fancy a punt on Brighton & Hove Albion's Simon Adingra (£5.0m), who has played 90 minutes in each of the last two matches.

I like Pedro Neto (£5.8m) and Gordon as enablers. Both have some middling fixtures but Gordon in particular is capable of returning against anyone given the kind of form Newcastle have shown.

I wouldn't go with more than one though, as there are so many good midfield picks.

Utkarsh Dalmia (@ZopharFPL)

I think both Gordon and Neto are great picks. They are both very consistent and can be enablers to help afford the likes of Son Heung-min (£9.5m), Mohamed Salah (£12.8m), Ollie Watkins (£8.3m) and Erling Haaland (£14.0m).

I wouldn't own more than one because if one gets injured, you need an exit route.

Ben Crabtree (@FC_CrabDogg)

Neto has started the season in excellent form, but I'm reluctant to go for him as Wolverhampton Wanderers' fixtures aren't great.

This leads me to Gordon being the best option, with his starting spot secure while Harvey Barnes (£6.2m) is out.

Nick Harris (@WGTA_Nick)

Palmer and Gordon are two talents that have brought their form from the UEFA European Under-21 Championship into the Premier League. Douglas Luiz is another intriguing pick who is hitting a rich vein of goalscoring form.

Pras (@Pras_FPL)

I am always a fan of players on penalties. It is underrated how many points those bring in over the season. For that reason, Palmer sits above Gordon, Neto and Tomas Soucek (£4.9m) for me.

The other one I am keen on is Adingra, whose minutes could be more secure after Solly March's (£6.3m) injury.

Harry Daniels (@FPL_Harry)

Palmer is the best midfielder under £6.0m. The fixtures are not amazing in the short term, but he is a focal point for the Blues and is also on penalties.

Mark McGettigan (@FPLGeneral

Gordon is the budget midfield enabler I'm eyeing up in order to fund a move for Salah this week. Newcastle rank first in the league for Expected Goals (xG) after nine Gameweeks.

The Newcastle winger has been very productive this season, registering three goals and four assists. For team structure, I like a 3-4-3 formation with only one midfielder under £6.0m.

Sam Bonfield (@FPLFamily)

I really like the way that West Ham United are playing and their fixtures over the coming weeks are very appealing. I already own Jarrod Bowen (£7.4m), but the double-up with Soucek makes sense.

Soucek has been playing in more of a No 10 role in recent weeks and at his price, offers both a great budget option as well as strong potential for attacking returns.
