Should Chelsea star Cole Palmer convert a penalty against Newcastle United on Saturday, he will edge closer to a Premier League record.

All four of the 21-year-old midfielder’s goals in the Premier League have come from spot-kicks, with his most recent one being a stoppage-time equaliser against former club Manchester City.
"I’m not going to say I work on [penalties] because I don’t," Palmer told Sky Sports following that match. "I just trust in my natural abilities and thankfully it went in.”
Palmer is now in the running for the record of scoring the most Premier League goals from penalties before registering any other type of goal in the competition.
He is three away from matching the record held by Jan Molby, who netted all seven of his Premier League goals for Liverpool via penalties between 1992 and 1995.

Former Crystal Palace midfielder Luka Milivojevic was the most recent player to challenge that record, falling two short.
While the Serb's first five goals came from the penalty spot, his run ended in January 2018 when he scored from outside the box to earn a late 2-1 win at Southampton.
Keith Curle also sits on five, scored between 1992 and 1995 for Man City.

Should Palmer's next goal come from the spot, he'll become the youngest player to score their first five goals in the competition from penalties.
If Palmer does surpass Molby, the next landmark to aim for would be the most penalties scored in a single Premier League season.
That record is held by Andy Johnson, who converted 11 spot-kicks for Palace in 2004/05.
