The Scout's panel of Fantasy Premier League experts discuss what to do with Manchester City stars, with Erling Haaland (£13.9m) and Kevin De Bruyne (£10.3m) returning to fitness.
What the FPL experts say
Lee Bonfield (@FPLFamily)
This is the time of the year Man City usually start to turn on the style - and with De Bruyne back, who's to say they won't again this year?
I've got Haaland already in place for his comeback, and I'm considering De Bruyne in for Mohamed Salah (£13.2m) while he's away at the Africa Cup of Nations, but managed minutes are a factor.
Utkarsh Dalmia (@ZopharFPL)
The fact that Haaland was not even in the squad against Huddersfield in the FA Cup means I will wait until Gameweek 22 to bring him in, which is nearly a month away. De Bruyne's minutes will likely be managed for a few matches so I think Phil Foden (£7.9m) is the attacker to go for.
Mark McGettigan (@FPLGeneral)
De Bruyne is an avoid until he proves his fitness and gets increased minutes. Haaland won't be coming back in for me until Gameweek 22 at the earliest. Foden is battling it out with Martin Odegaard (£8.5m) to be my Salah replacement this week. I'm not concerned about his minutes.
Ben Crabtree (@FC_CrabDogg)
I own Foden and Julian Alvarez (£7.0m). Alvarez's days look numbered so he'll likely switch to Haaland in a couple of weeks. De Bruyne would be great but I will wait for him to get a couple more games under his belt. Foden is staying put as he's in great form.
Gianni Buttice (@GianniButtice)
The Man City attack has clicked and when Haaland is back in the mix we're going to start seeing even more goals.
The triple-up is something I am moving towards and, having been an early adopter of Foden, I am likely to own Haaland in Gameweek 22 alongside either Jeremy Doku (£6.5m) or Kyle Walker (£5.4m).
As much as De Bruyne would be a welcome addition, accommodating him will be difficult if you want a route back to Salah or Son Heung-min (£9.8m).
Pras (@Pras_FPL)
We are still a bit in flux with City given that Haaland wasn't in the squad against Huddersfield and De Bruyne is still being managed with minutes. This means Alvarez and Foden are easy holds, and the latter possibly even a buy. Best to wait on buying anyone else for now.
Sam Bonfield (@FPLFamily)
I currently just have Alvarez in my team, but over the coming weeks that is sure to increase. The plan is to move Alvarez to Haaland in Gameweek 22, or once we know he is fit to start, but I would like to increase my investment in Man City. Walker and Bernardo Silva (£6.5m) are on the watchlist.
