Burnley have boosted their forward line by signing David Datro Fofana on loan from Chelsea until the end of the season.
The Ivory Coast international has spent the first half of this season on loan with Union Berlin in the Bundesliga, making 17 appearances and scoring twice, including a goal against Napoli in the UEFA Champions League.
Fofana's arrival will add firepower to a Burnley team who have scored the second-fewest goals in the Premier League this season, with 21, leaving them in the relegation zone.
The deal is subject to Premier League and FA approval. If that is secured, the 21-year-old will be available for Burnley’s trip to Manchester City on 31 January.
Fofana told the club's official website: “It feels very good to be here, I’m really happy. I think it will be a really good place for me to progress and it’s the perfect move for me.
“To work with Vincent Kompany will be very good. I have seen a couple of games already and I think this is the right place for me to make the next steps.
“I have known about Burnley for a long time, they have been in the Premier League before this season and the champions last year and I’m now looking forward to now being a part of this team.”
Fofana came through the academy of Ivorian side Abidjan City before moving on to AFAD. He then earned a move to Norwegian top-flight club Molde in 2021, going on to score 24 goals in less than two seasons.
That form caught the attention of Chelsea, and Fofana moved to Stamford Bridge in January 2023. He has made four appearances for the Blues in all competitions and is yet to score for them.
