AFC Bournemouth have confirmed the signing of Enes Unal on loan until the end of the season.

If certain conditions are met, Bournemouth would be obligated to purchase Unal.

The 26-year-old Turkey forward joins from LaLiga side Getafe, where he scored 34 goals in 104 matches in all competitions.

“We’re really pleased to welcome Enes to the club and believe he’ll add strength to our front line,” Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake said on the club's official website.

“He’s proven that he can score goals in multiple different countries, and we believe he’s got the skillset to succeed in the Premier League.”

Unal becomes Bournemouth’s first official signing of the January transfer window.

He began his career at Bursaspor, becoming the Super Lig’s youngest goalscorer when he struck against Galatasaray as a 16-year-old.

It will be the second Premier League side Unal has signed for, having moved to Manchester City in 2015, but he never made a first-team appearance.

He has been capped 32 times for Turkey and was Getafe's top scorer in the 2021/22 and 2022/23 seasons, scoring 16 and 15 goals respectively.

Unal is also nearing a century of goals in his 333 career appearances so far and could make his Premier League debut on Sunday at home to Nottingham Forest.
