Former Newcastle United manager Joe Kinnear has died at the age of 77.
He had been living with dementia since 2015.
His family said in a statement: "We are sad to announce that Joe passed away peacefully this afternoon surrounded by his family."

Joe worked at the club as both Manager and Director of Football.

Kinnear spent 10 seasons as a player at Tottenham Hotspur, making 196 appearances, before ending his playing career at Brighton & Hove Albion in 1976.
With Spurs he won four major trophies, including the FA Cup and UEFA Cup.

He played 26 times at international level for Republic of Ireland across eight years.
Kinnear then turned to coaching, starting his managerial career in Asia before taking charge of Wimbledon in 1992.
He led Wimbledon to a sixth-placed finish in the 1993/94 Premier League season, winning three Manager of the Month awards.
He remained at the club for seven years. He left in 1999, and Wimbledon were relegated the season after his departure.

Kinnear then went to Luton Town, whom he led to a first promotion for 20 years. He briefly moved to Nottingham Forest before spending a year at Newcastle United, succeeding Kevin Keegan in what would be his last managerial role.
