Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven admits it is going to be difficult for his side to finish in the top four and qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season.
"Of course it's going to be difficult [to finish in the top four]," Van de Ven said after the match. "We've lost two games in a row. It's important we play a good game on Sunday [against Liverpool], and we play well in the upcoming four games."
Ange Postecoglou's side followed Sunday's 3-2 north London derby defeat at home to Arsenal with a 2-0 loss at Chelsea on Thursday night, leaving Spurs seven points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa, having played one match fewer.
"Of course it's a difficult situation right now, and yeah, we lost our two big games in a row," Van de Ven told Spurs' official website. "It's unacceptable how it happens.
"It's important to keep our heads high right now because if everybody puts their head down now, it's not gonna be a good end of the season.
"We look back at these games and we will find the positive things about it. They're learning moments about it and just yeah we come back strong out of it."
Spurs head to Liverpool on Sunday seeking a first win in four Premier League matches, while they also face title-chasing Manchester City over their four remaining matches.
