Alex Keble looks at what Fulham need to do in the summer transfer window to improve their squad.
Fulham
Marco Silva has a very clear tactical strategy at Fulham, which on the ball involves quickly distributing to the wingers to run at the opposition full-backs and deliver crosses into the penalty area.
This explains why they rank fourth for crosses, with 736, and sixth for switches of play, with 118, so it’s surprising, then, that Fulham are bottom of the Premier League for attempted take-ons, with 550.
Fulham need to find tricky wingers who can take some of the burden off Willian and give Fulham a more consistent route to goal. The Brazilian is in discussions to extend his stay with the Cottagers after his contract expired.
But more importantly, Fulham need a centre-forward. Rodrigo Muniz scored eight goals in eight matches between 3 February and 30 March - but only one more across the rest of the campaign, suggesting he isn’t the new Aleksandar Mitrovic.
Key positions to target: Winger, centre-forward
