Wolves sign Norway striker Strand Larsen on loan

Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed the signing of Pedro Lima from Brazilian side Sport Recife.

The 18-year old defender moves to Molineux on a five-year deal with the option of a further 12 months and becomes manager Gary O’Neil’s fourth addition of the summer window after Tommy Doyle, Rodrigo Gomes and Norway international striker Jorgen Strand Larsen on a season-long loan.

“I’m really happy we’ve been able to add Pedro to the first-team squad. There was lots of competition for him, but we’ve been working on bringing him to Wolves for a while now, and he’s fully invested in our project," Wolves' sporting director Matt Hobbs told the club's official website.

“He’s a person with huge ambition, but Gary and the coaches know where he wants to get to and they will be working with him – like they do all our players – to be better and improve. He has a massive desire to be the best player he can be and we’re going to help him meet his goals."

Who is he?

Lima was born in Cabedelo, Brazil, and plays as an attacking right-back.

He joined the Sport Recife academy in 2021 and was promoted to the club’s senior team in January this year.

The youngster quickly established himself as a regular starter for the Brazilian second-division side, appearing 26 times in all competitions in 2024.

Lima also made five appearances for Brazil Under-17s at the FIFA U-17 World Cup at the end of 2023, featuring in all their matches before they were knocked out by rivals Argentina in the quarter-finals.

Wolves begin the 2024/25 season with a trip to Arsenal on 17 August.
