Hear from the managers who have been speaking on Friday so far ahead of their opening matches in the 2024/25 Premier League.
Arne Slot (Liverpool)
"I think our squad is really strong and it’s not so easy to find players who can help us or strengthen the squad. [Real Sociedad midfielder] Martin Zubimendi was one of them, to be fair, but he decided not to come, and we go forward with the ones we have and those who have done well in pre-season. We’re in a good place."
Andoni Iraola (AFC Bournemouth)
On Dominic Solanke leaving and Evanilson, his likely replacement: "For us without Dom, my job is going to be more difficult because he’s a hell of a player, he performed at a very high level. But there is also a personal side that you want the best for him and we will want him to score a lot of goals, to win [against] every opposition, to be as good as he is, and I’m sure he will be because his behaviour has always been top.
"I think [Evanilson] has the experience, he’s still young but he has experience in the top level. He’s played the Champions League, he’s had his first games with the national team. If the signing is completed, for sure, it will be a very good signing for us."
Eddie Howe (Newcastle)
"Everyone is looking for the best players that they can find. From our perspective, we've got a very good squad when everyone is fit. So to sign players and make the squad better is difficult, but it's achievable - we can do it."
"The players we've recruited so far, albeit not huge in number of transfer fees, have added to the group. I certainly hope we can add some more in the next two weeks."
On Alexander Isak winning the Golden Boot: "He has got the talent and ability to be, but he's going to be competing against all the elite strikers in the league. It is our job to supply him, to give him as many chances as possible."
Oliver Glasner (Crystal Palace)
On Marc Guehi, who has been linked with a move to Newcastle: "Marc trained today and we talked together. I've had no other information. I'll have to look at my bank account and see if anything came in!
"We plan with Marc. He's our player and our captain, I can't tell you anything else. As long as no one tells me they will leave or the club tells me someone will leave, then we will work with them every day and prepare the team."
Kieran McKenna (Ipswich Town)
On signing Kalvin Phillips: "He brings recent experience of playing at the top echelons of club football at probably the best club side in the world. Being part of trophy-winning squads. He has major international experience. Our players will be very keen to learn from him and pick things up off of him.
"But also really importantly for me, Kalvin’s worked so hard to get where he is in his career. He’s been through the experience that a lot of our players are now going into and I know he’s hungry for the next thing."
Steve Cooper (Leicester City)
"Every season you want to strengthen. Every club will be the same. We are still going through that process. The club is working together and the communication lines have been great. It has been a slow market but it's not been through a lack of trying.
"Once I realised that there wouldn't be any [more] reinforcements ahead of Monday night, I put it to one side to focus on that [the match]. I'm focused on the guys and that is all I can control."
