Tottenham Hotspur have announced Son Heung-min's current contract has been extended until the summer of 2026.
The club have exercised the option for an additional season, which will take the South Korea international into an 11th year in north London. He was named Spurs captain in August 2023, following the departure of his long-term team-mate and attacking partner Harry Kane.
Son was signed from Bayer Leverkusen in August 2015 and has since made 431 appearances in all competitions, scoring 169 goals. He is ranked 11th on the club's all-time appearances list and fifth on the top scorers' chart.

Son's achievements as a goalscorer include winning the Premier League Golden Boot for 2021/22, an award he shared with Liverpool star Mohamed Salah after both men scored 23 goals in the division that season.
He also has the FIFA Puskas Award on his CV, after his remarkable solo run and finish against Burnley was voted the world's most spectacular goal of 2020. Manchester United's Alejandro Garnacho is the latest winner of this global accolade.
Son's 169 goals in all competitions for Spurs include 125 in the Premier League, a tally which makes him joint-18th alongside ex-Arsenal and Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka among the competition's all-time top scorers. Three more goals would take him into 16th place outright, above both former Spurs star Robbie Keane (126) and Chelsea legend Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink (127).
The South Korean is also renowned for creating goals and has 90 assists to his name with Spurs. These include a club-record 68 in the Premier League, with his latest being registered in last month's 5-0 win at Southampton.
On the international stage, Son captains South Korea and has made 131 appearances, scoring 51 goals. He has been named the AFC Asian International Player of the Year on a record four occasions.
