Craig Shakespeare says Leicester City must raise the bar higher in the forthcoming campaign and insists preserving their Premier League status is no longer an acceptable target for the 2015/16 champions.
After replacing Claudio Ranieri last season, Shakespeare guided a Leicester side who had flirted with the relegation zone to 12th, on 44 points.
As he prepares for his first full season at the helm, Shakespeare is determined to change the mentality.
"Premier League survival is good but I look at the squad and the players we're trying to attract," he told LCFC TV. "I want to be better than that and I think the players want to be better than that."
"I think it’s important that the players know what’s required." 💪https://t.co/YpDIIjG0mm
