Brighton & Hove Albion have agreed to sign winger Yoon Doyoung from South Korean club Daejeon Hana Citizen on 1 July.
The 18-year-old winger joins on a deal until June 2030 and is set to become the 16th South Korean player to join the Premier League. He is expected to go out on loan in 2025/26.
What was said about him?
“Yoon is widely regarded as one of the best young talents in Asia and we’re very pleased he’s chosen to become a Brighton & Hove Albion player,” Brighton technical director David Weir said on the club's official website.
“We will be watching closely as he continues his development in the South Korean League through until the summer, and then look to find a suitable loan for him next season.”
Who is Yoon?
Yoon came through Daejeon's academy and represented the club at Under-18 level before making his first-team debut in May 2024.
He has made 22 appearances for the senior side, scoring once and providing three assists.
Yoon has also represented South Korea at U16, U17, U18, U19 and most recently U20 level. He helped South Korea reach the semi-finals of the U20 Asian Cup earlier in March, where he played five times and produced one goal and an assist.
