As fans look forward to the thrill and drama of another brilliant season’s final stages, The FA, Premier League and EFL are reminding everyone attending fixtures to continue to act responsibly and play their part in maintaining a positive experience for all to enjoy.
Thanks to match-going fans, and through clubs’ work in collaboration with their local police forces, football continues to be a safe and welcoming experience across the country each week. We have seen a nationwide reduction in anti-social and criminal behaviours within football grounds, including the use of pyrotechnics, missile-throwing and pitch incursions.
However, one incident is one too many and can have a serious impact on both supporters and those guilty of such behaviour.
In 2022, English football came together to launch Love Football, Protect the Game, which is backed by measures and sanctions to help ensure football remains a safe environment for fans, players, staff and all those involved in a matchday. Dangerous and illegal conduct can result in club bans and prosecution, which can lead to fans receiving criminal records.
To ensure negative actions from a small minority do not impact the game for others, supporters are reminded that they can report dangerous, discriminatory or abusive behaviour through their club’s dedicated reporting routes or to their nearest steward.
Thank you for your support, and enjoy the remainder of the season.
