Vlad Dragomir and Chuba Akpom scored second-half goals to give Arsenal a 2-0 win over Sunderland in Premier League 2 Division 1 at Emirates Stadium.
After a goalless first half, the Gunners moved ahead within three minutes of the restart as Akpom (pictured) set up Dragomir to fire into the top corner.
Akpom sealed the points in the 77th minute when he snapped up a chance from close range.
The victory left Arsenal third in the table, three points behind leaders Liverpool, but dropped Sunderland to the bottom of the table, although they are level on points with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
Arsenal's next match is the north London derby with Spurs at Enfield on Monday 23 October, while Sunderland face Everton at Finch Farm on Friday 20 October.
