AFC Bournemouth’s hopes of reaching the Round of 16 remain in their own hands going into the final day of the group stage, despite a 1-1 draw at Bury on Monday.
Luke Nippard headed in the 20th-minute opener for the Cherries, who started with seven Under-18 players at Gigg Lane.
Jaidon Anthony missed a great chance to make it two, and the hosts fought back with Jack Hatton levelling eight minutes from time.
The draw leaves AFC Bournemouth second in Group C, three points behind Wolverhampton Wanderers and ahead of Norwich City on goal difference.
The top two will advance after the final group stage matches on Monday 26 February. Equalling Norwich's result in the final group match will be enough to go through, unless the Cherries lose and bottom club Bury win their last two matches and make up their goal difference deficit of 13.
