To celebrate Brighton & Hove Albion v West Ham United being the 10,000th Premier League match, we asked past players to name their favourite.
Dion Dublin
There have been some great comebacks down the years, and Dion Dublin was heavily involved in one of them with Aston Villa in December 1998.
“Arsenal came to our patch, Villa Park, and basically took the mickey out of us,” says Dublin. “Every single one of us had a terrible first half.”
Arsene Wenger’s reigning champions led 2-0 at the break. But Julian Joachim pulled a goal back and Dublin then struck twice to complete a remarkable turnaround.
“Beating Arsenal 3-2, after being two down, was a massive achievement,” says the matchwinner. “That one sticks in my mind for all the right reasons.”
