AFC Bournemouth have signed their second Liverpool player of the summer transfer window, agreeing a deal to bring Brad Smith to Vitality Stadium.
The 22-year-old left-back has signed a four-year deal with the Cherries for an undisclosed fee, less than two weeks after Jordon Ibe left Anfield for the south coast.
Smith becomes Eddie Howe's eighth recruit ahead of 2016/17 after flying back to England from the Reds' US tour to complete a medical.
"It's a great stadium here and it’s a great opportunity for me to come and play in front of the fans," Smith said. "Hopefully I’ll do well, learn a lot and progress in my career.
"Bournemouth did really well last season and I think the club can be a great team in the Premier League for many years to come. They're just getting started really."
The club's chief executive Neill Blake told afcb.co.uk: "He is another excellent young player that we believe can progress under Eddie and Jason's guidance, but he also brings with him experience of playing at the highest level in both the Premier League and on the international stage with the Socceroos."
Smith, a full Australia international, made 11 first-team appearances for Liverpool including five outings in the Premier League. His first start in the top flight came in a 2-1 victory away to AFC Bournemouth in April.
Having drawn 3-3 with Portsmouth in their latest pre-season match - Ibe scoring his first goal for his new club - the Cherries return to action against Reading at the Madejski Stadium on Friday.
Smith will be hoping to make an impression ahead of AFC Bournemouth's first fixture of the new Premier League season (AFC Bournemouth v Manchester United) on Sunday 14 August.
