Swansea City have announced the signing of Borja Gonzalez from Atletico Madrid for a club-record fee of £15.5million.
The 23-year-old striker, known as Borja, who will wear No 10, has signed a four-year deal.
He scored 18 goals on loan at Eibar last season in LaLiga and came through the Madrid academy, scoring 16 goals for the club’s second team while his sole senior team appearance came in 2010.
Borja is Swansea’s fifth senior signing this summer after Leroy Fer (Queens Park Rangers), Mike van der Hoorn (Ajax), Mark Birighetti (Newcastle Jets) and Fernando Llorente (Sevilla).
Subject to international clearance, Borja could be available for Swansea’s opening Premier League fixture at Burnley on Saturday.
