Five new signings have been added to Fantasy Premier League for 2018/19 and one new entry in particular should give managers cause for optimism.
Listed as a midfielder, Andriy Yarmolenko (£7.0m) arrives at West Ham United with the qualities to fill the void left by Marko Arnautovic (£7.0m) in Fantasy midfields, given the Austrian's reclassification as a forward.
Ukraine international Yarmolenko produced three goals and two assists for Borussia Dortmund in 18 Bundesliga appearances last season, but has a rich goalscoring pedigree.
He was the fifth-highest goalscorer in the history of the Ukrainian Premier League, with 99 goals in 228 league outings.
The 28-year-old, who has also scored 35 goals in 77 matches for Ukraine, is likely to play out wide in a 4-2-3-1 formation under new manager Manuel Pellegrini.
And with Arnautovic's position change for 2018/19, Yarmolenko could become FPL managers' go-to option in the Hammers midfield.
Defensive boost for Arsenal
Lucas Torreira is priced at £5.0m after signing for Arsenal from Sampdoria.
The defensive midfielder supplied four goals and an assist in 36 Serie A matches in 2017/18, but his biggest impact may be on helping to shore up an Arsenal defence that conceded 51 goals last season.
