Manager Bio

Manuel Pellegrini was appointed West Ham United’s manager on 22 May 2018.

He made his return to the Premier League after three seasons with Manchester City between 2013 and 2016, when he won three trophies.

The Chilean started his managerial career in his home country before spells in Ecuador and Argentina.

Pellegrini moved to Spain, leading Villarreal to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League in 2005/06 and to their highest league finish – second two seasons later.

After a campaign in charge of Real Madrid, Pellegrini joined Malaga, guiding them to fourth in his first full season, 2010/11, and to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals for the first time.

Pellegrini joined Manchester City in the summer of 2013 and led them to a Premier League and League Cup double in his first season.

He won the League Cup again in 2015/16, while also claiming the Premier League Manager of the Month award on four occasions during his time at the club.

After three seasons at City, Pellegrini was replaced by Pep Guardiola. He spent the next two years in the Chinese Super League with Hebei China Fortune before replacing David Moyes at West Ham.

On 28 December, West Ham announced that Pellegrini was leaving, with the club in 17th position.
