Stefano Okaka’s first two goals for Watford inspired a 3-2 comeback victory over Everton at Vicarage Road.
After Romelu Lukaku put Everton in front from a pinpoint pass by Gareth Barry, who was on his 609th Premier League appearance, Okaka levelled with a superb backheel from Nordin Amrabat’s cross.
Jose Holebas provided two assists as Watford went 3-1 up after half-time.
Sebastian Prodl nodded in his left-wing free-kick before Okaka glanced in a header from the defender’s 64th-minute corner.
Lukaku headed in Aaron Lennon's cross as Everton fought back late on, but Watford held on to move a point above Ronald Koeman's side before Saturday’s 3pm matches.
