Watford extended their winless run in the Premier League to six matches following a goalless draw with Middlesbrough at Vicarage Road.
After moving tributes to Hornets great Graham Taylor, who passed away earlier this week, neither side was able to take charge of the match as the first half produced just three shots - the lowest of any Premier League match this season.
Watford began to threaten after half time and on-loan substitute Tom Cleverley was inches away from a debut goal as his late shot hit the post, while Abdoulaye Doucoure headed wide.
Middlesbrough striker Rudy Gestede also came close to marking his debut with a goal but he shot over as both teams shared the points on an emotional afternoon.
