West Bromwich Albion climbed to 40 points with a 2-1 victory over AFC Bournemouth at The Hawthorns.
The Cherries took the lead inside five minutes when Joshua King converted from the penalty spot after Ryan Fraser was fouled by Allan Nyom.
The home side hit back quickly as Craig Dawson’s deflected long-range effort and Gareth McAuley’s tap-in from a corner put Tony Pulis's side in charge at the break.
The Baggies came close to extending their lead when McAuley’s looping header hit the bar and the rebound, which did find the net, was ruled out for offside.
The defeat leaves AFC Bournemouth on 26 points just five points above the relegation zone.
