Idrissa Gueye and Romelu Lukaku stretched Everton's unbeaten run to nine matches with a 2-0 win against Sunderland.
Gueye smashed in his first Premier League goal after 40 minutes, beating fit-again goalkeeper Jordan Pickford after being set up by Seamus Coleman.
Tom Davies struck the post from the edge of the box before Sunderland came close to equalising, Jermain Defoe's effort crashing against the crossbar.
Victory was sealed when Lukaku netted his 17th goal of the season, the Belgian moving level at the top of the scoring charts with Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez and joining Duncan Ferguson as Everton's joint-highest PL goalscorer.
Everton stay in seventh place but are four points behind Manchester United. Sunderland are bottom, three points off safety.
