A late goal by substitute Michy Batshuayi ensured Chelsea clinched the Premier League title for the fifth time with a 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion.
Chelsea's evening appeared destined for frustration as they could not convert domination into goals against dogged opponents but Batshuayi’s 82nd-minute strike ended the resistance.
The hosts spent most of the match in their own half as Chelsea laid siege to their goal with Gary Cahill, Cesc Fabregas, and Pedro coming close and Ben Foster's fingertip save denying Victor Moses after the interval.
As the match wore on West Brom might have shocked Antonio Conte’s men on the counter-attack but Salomon Rondon and Nacer Chadli missed opportunities.
With eight minutes left Cesar Azpilicueta kept a wayward shot alive and picked out Batshuayi for his first league goal since 20 August and the most memorable of his Chelsea career.
