MAN OF THE MATCH?

Match summary

Harry Kane's seventh goal in seven north London derbies gave Tottenham Hotspur a 1-0 victory over Arsenal in front of a record Premier League crowd of 83,222 at Wembley Stadium.

After missing a good chance in a tense first half, Kane put the home side ahead when he rose highest to head Ben Davies's 49th-minute cross into the bottom corner.

Spurs had plenty of chances to add to their lead but Kane put a free header wide and had a fierce shot saved by Petr Cech, who also denied Christian Eriksen, Kieran Trippier and Erik Lamela.

For Arsenal, Jack Wilshere's curling effort was saved by Hugo Lloris while substitute Alexandre Lacazette put a late chance just wide.

Tottenham Hotspur move into third place above Liverpool, who play on Sunday, while Arsenal remain sixth, six points off the top four.
