Huddersfield Town became the first team to stop Manchester City scoring at home in the league this season as they held firm for a precious point towards their battle for safety.
The champions were hoping to mark the day they lifted the Premier League Trophy with victory and a record for points in a Premier League season and goals but to no avail.
Huddersfield started brightly, with Alex Pritchard's long-range effort tipped wide by Ederson, who also denied Florent Hadergjonaj when one-on-one with the City goalkeeper.
Kevin De Bruyne fired wide before the break, and City camped in Huddersfield's half for much of the second period.
Huddersfield's Scott Malone shot straight at Ederson on the counter-attack before Nicolas Otamendi's effort flew narrowly wide for City.
The draw sends Huddersfield three points clear of the relegation zone.
