Neal Maupay scored to earn Brighton & Hove Albion their third win of the season as they edged past Leeds United at Elland Road.
The Brighton striker finished off a brilliant team goal to put the visiting side ahead on 17 minutes as he tapped in Alexis Mac Allister’s cross.
Brighton controlled the first half thereafter and almost doubled their lead in the 27th minute when Leandro Trossard’s cross struck Luke Ayling and then the crossbar.
Leeds improved after the break, with Jack Harrison shooting wide five minutes into the second half.
Robert Sanchez then denied Liam Cooper’s header on 63 minutes and also kept out substitute Tyler Roberts as Brighton held firm.
A first win in 10 matches moves Brighton up to 16th with 17 points, within six points of Leeds, who stay 12th.
