Leandro Trossard's stoppage-time goal earned Brighton & Hove Albion a 1-0 win at Brentford, whose unbeaten start to the Premier League came to an end.
After an even start, Ivan Toney went close with an ambitious long-range strike that looped narrowly over the Brighton crossbar.
Toney then headed over from Bryan Mbeumo's cross before the Bees duo again combined, Mbeumo shooting over from the striker's cutback.
Brighton lost Adam Webster to injury before Robert Sanchez saved from Vitaly Janelt at the end of a goalless first half.
Early in the second half David Raya saved comfortably from Jakub Moder, while Neal Maupay shot wide from Trossard's cross as Brighton pushed for a breakthrough.
The winner arrived with time running out as Alexis Mac Allister found Trossard and the Belgian beat Raya from the edge of the area to snatch all three points.
The win lifts Brighton up to fourth, with nine points.
A first defeat of the season – and in 16 matches across all competitions – puts Brentford 10th, with five points.
