The top two in Premier League 2 Division 1 remain separated by four points with three matches to go as both Everton and Brighton & Hove Albion were held to draws on Monday night.

Leaders Everton were unable to find a way past defending champions Arsenal in difficult conditions despite late pressure and drew 0-0.

Josh Bowler, pictured above, had the best chance for Everton but shot over from close range in the first half.

Brighton were unable to take advantage as they let a two-goal lead slip to draw 2-2 at Blackburn Rovers.

After Max Sanders had struck twice to give Brighton a 2-0 half-time lead, Leo Ostigard put the ball into his own net two minutes into the second period.

Harry Chapman’s goal for Rovers with 19 minutes remaining meant frustration for Brighton.

In Division 2, two goals from Niall Ennis helped Wolverhampton Wanderers overcome Southampton 3-1 to leapfrog them into first place and the sole automatic promotion spot.
