West Ham United have been relegated from Premier League 2 Division 1 despite a final-day 2-1 victory over champions Everton at London Stadium.

The Hammers, who needed to win but were also relying on Tottenham Hotspur to drop points against Derby County, went in front on 25 minutes when Grady Diangana tapped in from close range.

On 60 minutes the Hammers had their second of the match when Ben Johnson fired in his first goal for the Under-23 side with a fine 25-yard strike.

Everton, who finished top on 41 points, pulled one back with nine minutes remaining through Fraser Hornby.

West Ham's win was not enough as Spurs beat Derby 3-1 and stayed two points above the Hammers, who will play alongside already-relegated Swansea City in Division 2 next season.
