If you are already planning ahead for the 2019/20 season in Fantasy Premier League one of the first name on your sheets should be Sergio Aguero (£12.0m).
So argues FPL expert David Munday, who says the Manchester City striker is a Fantasy legend but, more importantly, will be a major player again next season.
Aguero was outscored by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£10.8m) in the FPL forwards’ chart, but uncertainty over Arsenal head coach Unai Emery’s rotation policy means Aguero is a far more reliable source of points.
"He’s just an FPL legend," says Munday in the final FPL Show of the season. "He's the manager people turn to for their captaincy, for their Triple Captain, with regularity for years and years.
"He could have done so much better this year if he wasn’t injured for a portion of the season, but he’s come through it."
Pep's No 1 choice
Munday, whose FPL team finished 17,083rd in the world, says Aguero's dependability this campaign was in marked contrast to 2017/18, when his place in the City side was under threat from Gabriel Jesus (£9.9m), but it will continue through next season.
"Last season we were umming and ahhing because Jesus came in and it looked like maybe they were going to share minutes," Munday says.
"But this season he’s clearly been No 1 and that’s going to continue for next season.
"He’s had a couple of years under [Pep] Guardiola, and Guardiola gets what he wants out of him now, so he’s very much a key player for next season."
