Shirt & Badge Scanner explained

Fans are able to use the official Premier League mobile app to scan the names, numbers and sleeve badges on club shirts to reveal hidden content in the app.

What is the Shirt & Badge Scanner?

Every name, number and sleeve badge will include a Smart Code invisible to the eye but readable by the Smart Scanner in the Premier League app.

What happens when I scan a name, number or sleeve badge?

It will reveal hidden content in the Premier League app. 

What happens if I scan a name, number or sleeve badge from past seasons?

The new Smart Code was introduced ahead of 2019/20, so only badges from that season onwards are able to be scanned.

Does the Premier League app need access to my camera?

Yes, for the Smart Scanner to work then you must grant access to your camera when prompted or within your phone settings.
