2001: Arsenal 2-4 Charlton Athletic
Charlton Athletic stunned Arsenal with a 4-2 victory at Highbury.
Despite having 27 shots on goal, Arsenal failed to capitalise on their domination after Thierry Henry gave them an early lead.
Steve Brown equalised before Arsenal goalkeeper Richard Wright punched the ball into his own net.
In the space of eight minutes after half-time, Claus Jensen and Jason Euell had given Charlton a three-goal cushion, before Henry pulled one back from the penalty spot with his second of the match.
The result left eventual champions Arsenal fifth on 19 points, four behind leaders Leeds United. Charlton moved up to 15th with 13 points, putting five points between themselves and the relegation zone.
2001: Liverpool 3-1 Manchester United
Michael Owen starred as Liverpool recorded a fourth straight win by defeating Manchester United at Anfield.
Owen scored twice either side of John Arne Riise’s spectacular free-kick rocket, as Liverpool inflicted United's second consecutive Premier League defeat, following Bolton Wanderers’ win at Old Trafford.
Visiting captain David Beckham pulled a goal back five minutes after half-time as Manchester United hinted at a recovery, but Owen’s second goal made the points safe just one minute later.
Liverpool moved up to second with 22 points, one behind leaders Leeds United, while United dropped to sixth on 18 points.
