As Fantasy Premier League managers can now select their 15-man squads, The Scout analyses standout budget and premium players in each position.

Sergio Aguero (MCI) £12.0m

When it comes to selecting captains in FPL, few are as reliable as the Manchester City forward.

At home, in particular, Aguero was a huge success for the champions in 2018/19.

He started 14 matches at the Etihad Stadium, producing attacking returns in all but one.

That helped the Argentinian to 15 goals and eight assists over his 16 home outings in 2018/19.

When assessed against other premium picks, Aguero's record is all the more impressive.

Home goal involvement 2018/19
Player Goals Assists Mins per goal/assist
Aguero 15 8 48.9
Hazard 11 10 72.7
Sterling 12 8 62.8
Salah 13 7 84.5
Aubameyang 13 5 78.8
Mane 18 0 91.3

His involvement in 23 goals at home was more than any other player in FPL in the last campaign.

At home, he produced a goal or an assist every 48.9 minutes.

By comparison, Raheem Sterling (£12.0m), his identically-priced team-mate, recorded a goal or assist at home every 62.8 minutes.

Man City entertain Tottenham Hotspur, Brighton & Hove Albion and Watford in the first six Gameweeks.

And Aguero also has a kind run of away matches that further raises his potential.

Indeed, according to the Fixture Difficulty Rankings, Man City's first three trips to West Ham United, AFC Bournemouth and Norwich City score a total of eight.

Combined with his prolific home form, Aguero can deliver devastating points hauls from the very start of the season.
