The EA SPORTS Player of the Season award is given to the standout performer in a Premier League campaign.

It has been in existence since 1994/95, when Alan Shearer won the inaugural award.

Four players have won it a record two times. They are Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, Nemanja Vidic and Kevin De Bruyne. Ronaldo is the only player to claim it in back-to-back seasons.

The current holder is Manchester City's Phil Foden.

It is awarded to the player who receives the most combined votes from the public, the 20 club captains and a panel of football experts.
