Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool will be up against a “wonderful player” in Christian Benteke as the striker faces his former side for Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Benteke scored nine Premier League goals for Liverpool last season before a summer transfer to Palace, where in seven PL appearances he has three goals.
“For Crystal Palace, what a player,” he told liverpoolfc.com. “We know it best because we had him all the time in training.
“In the area he is really strong. He is a wonderful player, but now at Crystal Palace.”

Benteke scored a 90th-minute winner in this fixture last season, and his manager Alan Pardew is hoping for a similar contribution from a player he says will be determined to prove a point.
“When I played against my old club West Ham a couple of weeks ago the game meant a little bit more to me, and that is just a natural human reaction,” Pardew told cpfc.co.uk. “I am sure that will be the same for him.”
