Sheffield United have announced the signing of Oli McBurnie from Swansea City for an undisclosed club-record fee.

The 23-year-old forward has agreed a four-year deal and becomes the club's eighth summer signing.

McBurnie, who scored 22 goals in the Championship last season, follows Callum Robinson and Lys Mousset in adding to Sheffield United's attacking choices.

"We need options at the top of the pitch and Oli, as anyone who has watched a significant amount of Championship football will tell you, offers plenty in that area," manager Chris Wilder told the club's official website.

"He fits the profile of our transfer policy this season and is an age where his better years are ahead of him - hopefully he and the club can continue to grow together."

McBurnie made 16 Premier League appearances, assisting one goal, before Swansea were relegated in 2017/18.

He honed his talents at Premier League 2 level.

The Scotland international was the 2016/17 PL2 Player of the Season, beating fellow nominees such as Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mason Mount, after netting 23 times to help the Swans win the Division 2 title and Premier League Cup.

McBurnie will hope to feature when Sheff Utd start their Premier League season at AFC Bournemouth on Saturday 10 August.
