Raheem Sterling made a spectacular start to the season last weekend and Fantasy Premier League expert Lee Bonfield is expecting him to continue his scoring form despite a tough fixture this weekend.
Manchester City host Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, which has raised the popularity of Mohamed Salah (£12.5m) and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.0m) as captaincy choices, but FPL expert Bonfield believes Sterling (£12.1m) can build on his Gameweek 1 hat-trick at West Ham United.
"Aston Villa gave Spurs some real problems at the back last Gameweek," said Bonfield, of the @FPLFamily, on the FPL Show.
"They're having to play Kyle Walker-Peters [£5.0m]. Juan Foyth [£5.0m] is injured.
"Serge Aurier [£5.0m], who is flaky at best, might come in, so Sterling can exploit that."
Aubameyang attraction
Sam Bonfield, wife of Lee and fellow FPL expert, has been swayed by in-form Arsenal striker Aubameyang, who also has scored twice in each of his last three matches against GW2 opponents Burnley and concerns over Salah's fitness having played in the UEFA Super Cup in midweek.
"I'd never seriously considered him," said Sam, "until you get into the breakdown of how well he plays at Burnley.
"He's in 28 per cent of teams so would not be a differential choice. But if you've got him, he’d be an absolutely brilliant captain’s choice in a Gameweek where Sterling’s got a big fixture and Salah’s just played 120 minutes."
