Leicester City are hoping to welcome back Islam Slimani from injury for Saturday's match against Middlesbrough.

The striker missed the 2-1 defeat at Watford last weekend with a groin injury but is on the road to recovery and will be assessed on Friday, Claudio Ranieri has confirmed.

Ben Chilwell and Nampalys Mendy have returned to training but remain out of contention, though Leonardo Ulloa may be fit after suffering with a back problem.

Kasper Schmeichel (broken hand) is ruled out along with Danny Drinkwater, who on Thursday accepted a charge of violent conduct and is unavailable for Leicester's next three Premier League matches.
